Welcome to the website of the Morris Inn, located on the beautiful campus of the University of Notre Dame.
After 60 years of continuous, dedicated service, the iconic Morris Inn closed its doors on October 21, 2012 to undergo an extensive expansion and renovation. When it reopens at the end of August, members of the Notre Dame community, parents, alumni, and our many visitors and guests from all over the world will be warmly welcomed back to the “living room” of the University. Exceptional hospitality awaits you!
We invite you to follow our historic transformation. Through this web site, we are “opening the doors” of the Inn. Our renovation camera located on the Renovation Updates page provides a live, updated view of the exterior construction. Our rolling gallery of photos takes you inside to reveal our newly redesigned guestrooms and other areas.
The Morris Inn was originally built with a gift from Ernest M. and Ella L. Morris. Now, a gift from their daughter has made this renovation possible. “Thanks to the generosity and leadership of longtime Notre Dame friends, Ernestine Raclin and her family, The Morris Inn is now positioned to continue the University’s tradition of outstanding hospitality, service and excellence,” said John Affleck-Graves, executive vice president.
In a joint venture, the architectural and interior design is being provided by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Getty’s Hospitality Design. Construction is being managed by Skanska. The University will seek LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the building’s design and construction.
Please adjust your volume accordingly to enjoy the beautiful Irish music accompanying the tour.
